About

High School eLearning is run by Mark Callagher.

I am the E-learning Director at Wellington College and also teach History and Web Design & Development. I have also taught Mathematics for a number of years.

In 2008 I was a Ministry of Education eFellow. My research project asked “how can student interactivity be enhanced through a Blended Learning approach?” and is downloadable here.

I have been practising Blended Learning in the History subject using a Moodle Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) since 2007. I have presented my experiences to a number of teachers involved in Lower North Island ICT Professional Development clusters along with the national U-Learn Conference. I am Moodle Course Creator Certified and this year (2010) presented at both the New Zealand Moodle Moot (Christchurch) and the Moodle Mini-Moot (Wellington) on Moodle/Google Apps integration in action. I am increasingly presenting to a number of New Zealand High Schools on Moodle and Google Apps integration in action.

There has been increasing demand from High Schools for both presentations and training so a fellow teacher and I are now running presentations and courses for teachers. More information here.

This blogsite is targeted at eLearning in High Schools but is not exclusive to this teaching sector. It is intended to be an avenue for me to share my ongoing eLearning discoveries, pedagogy and practice with other teachers who are invited to enter into the discussion. It is also a resource site of information and ideas for teachers and E-Learning Facilitators to tap into.

Feel free to contact me for more information.
